As our “20 Years, 20 Stories” series continues, we’re proud to feature Megan Miller, a 2023 Teachers of Tomorrow graduate who teaches middle school PE. Megan’s story is one of energy, confidence, and the belief that movement and learning go hand in hand.
Meet Megan Miller
Teaches: Middle School PE, Grades 6–8
State: South Carolina
Program Completed: 2023
Finding Her Fit
Megan’s journey to teaching began with a simple question from her principal while she was working as an attendance clerk.
“She asked me if I wanted to be a PE teacher. That was all I needed to hear.”
With a love for children and physical activity, Megan knew this was her opportunity to make a difference.
Building Confidence
Since completing the program, Megan has grown stronger and more confident in her role.
“Every day I become more stable and confident. I’ve found my place.”
She still remembers the impact of helping one student reach a personal goal:
“Seeing a student make the soccer team because of what she learned in PE—that’s what it’s all about.”
Motivated by Joy
For Megan, it’s the simple things that keep her going.
“The students’ smiles. That’s what keeps me passionate.”
Her advice to new teachers is short but powerful:
“Keep your head up. It’s worth it at the end.”
Thank You, Megan
